Specific to a research units, needs (reasons) to introduce and maintain high research quality are derived from research unit's mission, research objectives, dictated by stakeholders (e.g. funders) or defined by EQIPD. Needs are identified by the process owner and are presented in the Planning tool.

Available NEEDs

Several external NEEDs are already set-up for import into the Planning Tool. Detailed description can be found here 4.3.2.1 Using the Planning Tool. The following NEEDs can be downloaded from this web page:

ARRIVE 2.0

ARRIVE are reporting guidelines for animal research which were revised in 2019. They are summarised within this Toolbox under ARRIVE 2.0 and the link to the publication can be found here

DFG codex on GSP

The German Science Foundation has created and published comprehensive guidelines on Good Scientific Practice. These guidelines were summarised and edited for the EQIPD format to be imported into the Planning Tool. Therefore, they are readily available for any research lab funded by the DFG to support their implementation and documenting the progress. [1]

Collaboration in pharma industry

A dedicated working group with members from pharma industry within EQIPD agreed on several important aspects for them when collaborating with external research units. Hence, this NEED provides guidance for such collaboration partners.

MRC documentation guidelines

These documentation guidelines by the Medical Research Council in the UK highlights aspects which should be followed by research groups funded by the MRC. Importing this NEED into the Planning Tool provides fast and direct access to these requirements. Information used to set-up this NEED can be found here and here
